im having issues with my xbox 360 dvd drive please help

hi all my problem is that my drive wont read any disks

i have replace the drive with one to believe to be in working order

everything was working fine tell it starting to make noises like the last one like its trying to read one part of the disk

i'v tried with muitlable disks and even flashing the drive to L.T. 3.0

does anyone know how to adjust the lens on theses drives ???

oh my drive is a benq vad 6038

I don't believe adjusting the drive's lens is the cause of the problem here. The fact that you got it working initially leads me to believe software is not to blame since software problems like region specific drives or firmware related issues typically tend to render the drive useless from the very beginning. At the XBDashboard, upon inserting the disk and closing the tray, would I be right in assuming the XBDashboard reports "Reading Disc" and then displays "Open Tray", as if no disc is inserted? Or does the XBDashboard continue to display "Reading Disc" indefinitely?

Based on the information so far and unless someone else has any ideas, I am assuming your current drive began making the same noises as your previous defunct drive when attempting to read discs because it too has suffered the same failure. You may need to look for yet another replacement drive.
