Size: 72.1 KBIf you want to play a game's multiplayer these days you pretty much have to play it while the game is hot, because a few years down the road you might not be able to get online with the title.

Case in point: The servers that Crytek use for Crysis and Crysis 2 multiplayer will be shutting down on May 31.

A few weeks ago, Glu announced that it will shut down all Gamespy server services, affecting a long list of games that rely on the service for matchmaking and hosting. In a post on the company's forums, Crytek confirmed that this shutdown affects Crysis and Crysis 2's PC multiplayer, and since the company won't be shifting hosting duties over to a new server, that means players only have until May 31 to play Crysis and Crysis 2's multiplayer for PC.

Of course, the single-player campaigns for both games will be unaffected, and the multiplayer modes for the console versions of Crysis 2 will remain playable.
