The steps I gave you are the ones I use myself.
I don't know if this will solve your problem, but try it & see.
I have to install bruteforce each time I want to use it or it won't decrypt the save properly.
It will say it's decrypted, but when I go to the cheats patch creator it will give me a pop-up saying "Save files in NPEB01945-LIST-?? are not decrypted".

Got a couple of questions about the cheats

1. Do they work with Gamegenie? as i have one and it would be handy if they did.

2. Any chance of a all recipe cheat?

Edit: 1. doesn't apply anymore as i tried it just before and it does indeed work
